These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all quotations, sales, deliveries, and installations carried out by Specterslitt Bedrooms and Kitchens Limited (“the Company”). By commissioning work or paying any part of the invoice or deposit, the client (“Customer” or “Client”) agrees to be bound by these Terms in full.

1. Nature of Products & Customisation

All goods supplied by Specterslitt Bedrooms and Kitchens Limited are bespoke, custom-made to individual Client specifications. As such:

  1. All orders are final and non-refundable once production begins.
  2. It is the Client’s sole responsibility to ensure all measurements, materials, and finishes are confirmed correctly in writing.
  3. Minor variations in shade, grain, tone, finish, or texture due to natural materials (wood, stone, etc.) are not considered defects and are not grounds for complaint or refund.

This policy outlines our refund and cancellation terms in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, with protections in place for both parties — but particularly reflective of the bespoke nature of our services.

2. Standard Specifications (Unless Otherwise Agreed)

Quoted prices are based on the following standard build and inclusions:

  1. Hinged doors: 600mm including doors
  2. Sliding doors: 680mm including doors
  3. Fillers:
    • 100mm top and bottom fillers
    • 60mm wall-side fillers (for both hinged and sliding units)
  4. End Panels: 18mm thickness
  5. Carcass Finish: Standard white internal carcass
  6. Hardware: Soft-close hinges and drawer runners
  7. Handles: Standard handles

Upgrades / Non-Standard Choices (Chargeable):

  1. Internal finishes other than white
  2. Premium or luxury handle selections
  3. Additional accessories or hardware outside of standard quote

Any changes to the specification after quote approval will be subject to additional cost, and may impact production timelines.

3. Scope of Work

The Company’s services are strictly limited to the design, supply, delivery, and dry fitting of custom-made furniture.

Not Included:

  1. Plumbing, gas, or electrical work
  2. Tiling, plastering, decorating, or structural works
  3. Appliance installation involving connection to mains services
  4. Any building works or modifications

All non-scope works must be quoted and agreed in writing. The Company accepts no liability for any work undertaken by third-party trades arranged by the Client.

4. Site Conditions & Access

It is the Client’s responsibility to ensure the site is:

  1. Clear, safe, and accessible
  2. Free of other active trades interfering with furniture installation
  3. Prepared (walls/floors/structure) as per Company guidelines

Any delays or re-visits caused by poor site readiness, restricted access, or safety risks will be chargeable at a daily rate of £150, plus incurred labour or transport cost which £350.

5. Delivery & Installation

Delivery dates are estimates only and subject to material availability, third-party logistics, and production timelines. The Company is not liable for delays caused by suppliers, couriers, acts of God, industrial disputes, or customer-requested changes.

Once delivered:

  1. Risk passes to the Client.
  2. The Client is responsible for safe storage, site conditions, and protection of all materials until fitting.

6. Payment Terms

All orders are subject to the following staged payment structure:

  1. 40% deposit at order confirmation (non-refundable after 48 hours)
  2. 40% on delivery of goods to site
  3. 20% on completion of fitting

Payment must be made via bank transfer or any other approved method. All goods remain the legal property of Specterslitt Bedrooms and Kitchens Limited until paid in full. Failure to complete payment allows the Company to:

  1. Refuse further works or warranty support
  2. Recover goods or take legal action.

7. Withholding of Payment

Clients may not withhold final payment for minor or non-critical items such as:

  1. Missing screw caps, decorative cover trims, minor filler, silicone, paint touch-ups
  2. Door or drawer alignments within industry tolerance
  3. Items provided with temporary protection
  4. Mirrors, handles, runners, or small accessories

Any remaining fitting adjustments or finishing will be scheduled once final payment is received.

8. Warranty

  3. The Client grants the Company or its agents reasonable access for such recovery, without liability

10. Cancellations & Changes

Orders may only be cancelled within 48 hours of order confirmation and prior to material procurement or production.

  1. Orders are final and non-refundable
  2. Any alterations are subject to a variation fee and written agreement
  3. The Company reserves the right to reject unreasonable or late changes.

11. Design Responsibility

While the Company offers layout and design advice, the final responsibility lies with the Client to:

  1. Approve all dimensions, layout, colours, and finishes
  2. Check appliance specifications (if self-supplied)
  3. Ensure integration with other building or M&E works

The Company accepts no liability for:

  1. Incorrect or incompatible third-party items
  2. Measurement discrepancies introduced by other works post-survey.

12. Force Majeure

The Company is not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond its control, including:

  1. Strikes
  2. Supplier delays
  3. Pandemic or health-related restrictions
  4. Transport disruptions
  5. Weather or site access issues.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company’s total liability shall not exceed the value of the order. The Company is not liable for:

  1. Indirect or consequential loss
  2. Loss of income or business
  3. Emotional distress or inconvenience.

14. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes must first be raised in writing. The Company will make reasonable efforts to resolve issues fairly and promptly.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, along with any written quotation and design documents, form the entire agreement between the Client and Specterslitt Bedrooms and Kitchens Limited. No verbal promises or representations will be binding unless confirmed in writing.

16. Acknowledgement

By confirming an order or paying any amount towards a quotation, the Client acknowledges they have:

  1. Read and understood these Terms
  2. Agreed to be bound by them in full
  3. Approved all designs, specifications, and payment terms.
